Oh, how the world is changing, and not for the good. This is the season to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, except that now we have people who get offended if you say Merry Christmas, since Christ is part of Christmas. Schools, Workplaces, and other locations much use Happy Holidays in place of Merry Christmas, just so 2 of our 10 people won't get offended. Why has the world come to this? Why can't we continue to use Merry Christmas, as we always have? Why is now politically wrong to say Merry Christmas. I've read where employees have been fired for wearing something that said Merry Christmas or anything else with God's name on it. It's sad that our own kids these days have Christ removed from their schools. My family still says Merry Christmas, and I am very thankful for that. We are believers of Jesus Christ, and we know the true meaning of Christmas. For others to say that we are wrong is simply disappointing. We should all teach our kids the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate this season using the words Merry Christmas.

A Different Kind of Monday
Yep, good ol' Monday is here again. But, this Monday is unlike all other Mondays, because this is the first Monday after a 4-day weekend, which includes the Thanksgiving holiday. This Monday is unique because it's the only time when we're simply tired of eating turkey and good home-cooked meals. All other Mondays, we'd love to have a big, delicious home-cooked meal, but not this Monday. This Monday is all about eating junk food, or for all you health nuts, getting back on track with your healthy diets and lesser food portions. For me, though, I just feel like eating a simple sandwich or a bowl of cereal for supper tonight. While the Thanksgiving holiday was full of good food and spending good time with my family, when it comes to food, I do want a simple meal tonight. One other reason I want to keep it simple tonight is because at work tomorrow, we're having a holiday potluck, full of turkey, dressing, and the works.

Thanksgiving Trivia
Thanksgiving Day is one of those joyous events we celebrate with lots of love and gratitude. It's a very significant day in the United States and the world over. Here is a little trivia about the Thanksgiving holiday.

- The pilgrims arrived in North America in December 1620.
- The pilgrims sailed from England on a ship known as the Mayflower.
- The pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving Day in the fall of 1961 at Plymouth, Massachusetts.
- President Franklin D. Roosevelt restored the Thanksgiving holiday on the last Thursday of the month in the year 1939. He did so to make the Christmas shopping season longer and stimulate the economy.
- Congress passed an official proclamation in 1941 and declared that from then on, Thanksgiving would be observed as a legal holiday on the fourth Thursday of November every year.
- The Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade tradition began in the 1920s.

Christmas Lights Before Thanksgiving
Why must people put up their Christmas lights prior to Thanksgiving? I'm sure they feel proud for being proactive, but come on, the Christmas season doesn't begin until Thanksgiving ends. Maybe it's the good weather in November (depends on where you live), but they still should've waited until after Thanksgiving. It just irks me to see lights up now.

Monday through Friday
We're up before dawn. Our busiest times are before you wake up. You can't start until we have everything ready. Two hours later, your day begins. Without us, you can't function properly. We clean up your mistakes. We save you from disaster. We get the job done. We have all the answers or find the answers for you. We're there at the end of the day, too, to clean up your mess. We go unnoticed. Most of the time...

Flying Cars in 2010?
Think back to the 1960's, 1970's, and so forth. Remember when everyone was talking about the 21st Century and how technically advanced the world would become? There were movies with these items, such as the flying cars and skateboards in "Back to the Future". While there have been many advances with the internet, cell phones, and technological advances in the medical field, the world is nowhere near where we once thought it'd be. But, it is fun to think back to those days and compare the 1950's and 1960's (for all you old folks) to today's world. What's changed dramatically and what is still the same? While cars are bigger and faster with all-new technologies in them, none are flying or talking to you (think Knight Rider), and we certainly don't have Transformers running the world. I haven't seen the new "Transformers" movies, but I wonder what years these movies take place in, because it's certainly not 2009 or even 2015. Yesterday, my co-workers and I got a good laugh as we talked about this topic, so I hope you take time to think back to the good 'ol days and compare those days to today.

Silent Film
Well, I just watched about 10 minutes of a silent film on TV, and I was actually surprised by how many emotions I received from it. From the speed of the production, to the background piano, the movie moved from happy times to tense moments and then to other emotions. How the people would clap really fast, since the speed was a little fast, made me laugh. But, I really enjoyed how the background piano would crescendo during tense moments of the film, and then decrescendo when there were lighter moments. I found myself at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next, since you couldn't use any dialogue between the characters. The film would show a few "quotes" on the screen, but it still left you with a lot of suspense. I would say that I haven't become a silent film aficionado, but tonight's film had a baseball theme to it, so I was able to enjoy it a little.
